NORMAL CONTINUITY OF OUR BUSSINESS ACTIVITY

Given the evolving situation of Covid-19 virus in Spain, Carlos Polo & Asociados wants to thank its colleagues and associates for the kind and thoughtful messages that we have received.

We also want to convey that we have taken all the sanitary and working measures to ensure the safety of our staff and the correct and full operation of our offices in Madrid and Alicante. In particular, we have taken all the necessary measures to enable our staff to work remotely and to conduct meetings through telematic means, should this become necessary.

Therefore, we confirm that our business activity continues without any incidences and all operations are fully secured.

SPAIN: ROYAL DECREE (R.D) 463/2020: SUSPENSION OF ADMINISTRATIVE & JUDICIAL TERMS AS OF MARCH  14, 2020.

The Spanish government issued last Saturday a Royal Decree establishing a nation-wide State of Alarm, adopting general measures to limit the expansion of the virus and safeguard rights. Regarding our business activity we can highlight the following:

– Suspension of deadlines in all administrative proceedings with the Spanish PTO as of March 14, 2020.
– Suspension of deadlines in Court proceedings as of March 14, 2020. With certain exceptions classified as extremely urgent.

The calculation of terms will be resumed when the aforementioned Royal Decree, or its extension, ceases to apply.

EUIPO: AUTOMATIC EXTENSION OF TERMS UNTIL MAY 1, 2020.  

The Executive Director of the EUIPO has published a Decision extending until May 1, 2020 all time limits affecting proceedings before the Office.
